Haworth receives the PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes)

Haworth in Italy is very glad  to inform the architects community, its customers and  all its dealers that Haworth has received the Certification of PEFC Council.

The PEFC Council (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organisation, founded in 1999 which promotes sustainable managed forests through independent third party certification. The PEFC provides an assurance mechanism to purchasers of wood and paper products that they are promoting the sustainable management of forests.

PEFC is a global umbrella organisation for the assessment of and mutual recognition of national forest certification schemes developed in a multi-stakeholder process. These national schemes build upon the inter-governmental processes for the promotion of sustainable forest management, a series of on-going mechanisms supported by 149 governments in the world covering 85% of the world's forest area.

For Haworth this means that we are following (in our manufacturing and, consequently, in our products) all the guidelines from the PEFC.  And our customers they can rely on a certified wood process for all of our office and institutional furniture, including equipped walls partitions, office systems and seating products made in Italy.

This certification follows Haworth's other certifications particular the ISO 9001, the ISO 14001 and the ISO 18001.

The PEFC represents a chance for the future of Europe's environment, and Haworth knows that the environment is not just a resource but an opportunity, for all of us.
