LC executive - vintage designs pleasing contemporary customers
Bologna, October 2007
Classic design is timeless, and responding to the fashion trend for world renowned Italian design with modern influences is Haworth Europe, incorporating contemporary flair into the iconic furniture of Castelli heritage.
Initially considering new proposals for the Plia chair, Haworth Europe continued their exploration into aligning Castelli classics with modern trends. Using a 1980's LC executive table - LC being the initials of historic business owner Leonida Castelli - the vintage selection now now sports eye-catching style with a choice of black or white tinted oak surfaces accented with white lacquer and chrome.
As clients continue looking for timeless style with modern appeal, Haworth Europe is proud of their capabilities to deliver to this new level of consumer while establishing a new status and success for Haworth.
Established in 1877 as a small craftsman's workshop, Castelli has played an active role in one of the most glorious and exciting periods of Italian Design. Determination and intuition guided the company through post-war reconstruction and onto the path of producing unique designs in office furniture.
Progress has been further bolstered by the talented brilliance of prestigious designers including Emilio Ambasz, Claudio Bellini, Rodolfo Bonetto, Giancarlo Piretti, Charles Pollock, F.A.Porsche and Richard Sapper. This collaboration led to the creation of products thateven today are remarkable reference points for the world of office furniture, including the Plia chair - designed by Giancarlo Piretti - which is displayed at New York's MOMA as a tangible symbol of recognition of its quality.
Castelli represents "Made in Italy," - a combination of creativity, elegance and ideology which lie at the heart of the success of Italian design all over the world.
