New Symposium - New Executive Furnishings From Europe

Bad Münder, October 2006.

Haworth presents the prototype of the first European furniture range for the exclusive market at this year's Orgatec. New Symposium combines the know-how of the art.collection brand with the French Mobilier International collection, which is known for its Eames product line. The new range brings together 146 years of experience in the field of high quality office fittings and furnishings. The use of industrial manufacturing techniques means that the complete systems supplier of office worlds is able to offer a high-end solution at a competitive price.

Albert Holz has designed a furniture piece for Haworth, which will form part of the a_con art.collection range from the end of the first quarter of 2007. Suitable for executive office suites and conference rooms alike, New Symposium is characterised by its simple elegance and smooth forms. Connoisseurs will recognise the homage to Charles Eames in the unmistakable design of the legs. The integrated technical elements are a further major feature of this new range. Thanks to the use of central electrical connection points, ugly cable runs across table tops are now a thing of the past with New Symposium. The range even allows for the integration of computer monitors, if required, at each seat position. The double-sided screen panels mounted in the centre of the table, produced by Element One, are celebrating their premiere at this year's Orgatec. An ideal solution for use in rooms in which it is not possible to integrate projector equipment, or where an oversize screen would be necessary. New Symposium offers tables in a smooth boat form, as well as in rectangular or ring form, and are designed to seat between four and 22 people.

The use of a media trolley, complete with a USB interface, allows Powerpoint or other presentation data to be downloaded, a function which serves to underline the global and universal character of the flexible line. The range also includes catering and technical trolleys, a sideboard and speaker's rostrum. Other components are already being planned as further additions to the product portfolio.
