System 39: Italian Chair Design by Haworth
Bad Münder, September 2006.
A union of Italian design and sophisticated engineering - this is precisely what Paolo Favaretto has succeeded splendidly in achieving with his System 39 design. The designer has created an office swivel chair for Haworth that employs an elegant form language and which displays the highest level of ergonomic quality, thus reflecting the stringent demands of modern everyday office life. All that and at a convincing price-performance ratio too.
System 39 is a modular chair range whose models adapt themselves in manifold fashion to both the user and the conditions at the workplace. The synchronous mechanism, which is designed to fit a range of body dimensions and can be set in one of four positions, together with the lumbar support, which can if required be supplied with an air-porous, net-covered backrest for extra support, form the basis of the comfortable ergonomic design. Individual adjustment mechanisms, such as the 3D armrests, adjustable seat depth and counter pressure are additional features that are designed to ensure that the user retains his physical vitality even after long periods spent sitting at the desk.
The range also includes visitor and seminar chairs, which are sturdy and comfortable and can be stacked together. They can be supplied with plastic backrest and seat coverings or with padding, as required. As is the case with all of Haworth's chair models, the System 39 is available in a range of colours, to ensure that it fits in harmoniously with the office environment.
System 39 was recently awarded the title of QUALITY OFFICE, signifying that it conforms in all elements with the quality criteria for office workplaces in accordance with Guideline L-Q 01-06, which is published jointly by DIN, VBG, BSO and INQA-Büro.
