NeoCon 2008
Haworth NeoCon 2008 - an Oasis on the third floor
For the third time in five years, Haworth's Chicago showroom has been awarded NeoCon's Best Large Showroom by the International Interior Design Association (IIDA). The 2,140 sqm. showroom, designed by Haworth's internal design team and Perkins + Will | Eva Maddox Branded Environments, has a new look each year without any changes to the architectural platform. Different designs are achieved with Haworth moveable walls, raised access floors, modular systems products and interior architecture collections.
Driven by Haworth's unique design point of view, the company's NeoCon 2008 showroom demonstrates the extreme possibilities of adaptability and sustainability through an integrated approach to workspaces. Building on four years of partnership with Perkins + Will | Eva Maddox Branded Environments, a new global headquarters and beautiful showrooms around the world, the 2008 showroom exemplifies a whole new level of continuity and reflects solutions for a truly organic workspace.
For the 2008 showroom, Haworth has utilised the busy Merchandise Mart hall space to create a "front porch" with Patterns benches. Just inside the front entrance, the reflecting pool returned and is complemented by a timber wall made from centuries old wood recovered from US and Canadian waterways such as the Great Lakes. The timber wall is a repeated design element from Haworth's new global headquarters and the company's Calgary showroom.
Reinforcing global design and international capabilities, the VeryTM seating family debuts at NeoCon 2008 with light scale styles that will soon be offered around the world. Designed by Haworth's design studio and Simon Desanta, the Very chairs are showcased with a wide range of personality. The Haworth showroom also includes a global seating gallery featuring the s_con family of seating, DSC guest chair, Penelope guest chair, b_sit guest chair, Dialog guest chair, K700 stool, and Plia® folding chair.
A dynamic and thoughtfully selected portfolio of global designs, Castelli® for Haworth, is also featured throughout the showroom. Celebrating furniture, lighting and accessories, the Castelli collection honours past and current design classics, while encouraging emerging design talent from around the world. As part of this collection, two new product introductions are prominently featured in the showroom's front jewel box - Mumbai (an executive desk) and NC-B Resonate (a storage element).
