Planes selected by the "Observeur du Design 2009"

Planes, Haworth's innovative conference system, continues its success story by being chosen for the French "Observeur du Design 2009".  Each year this competition, which was created in 1999 by the  APCI (Agency for the Promotion of Industrial Creation), highlights and gives awards to a selection of the best products resulting from the cooperation between business firms and designers.

With its new label "Observeur du design", Planes will participate in various exhibitions in France and around the world and will be on display at ‘La Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie' in La Villette (Paris) from October 2008 to March 2009.  The best creations will then be awarded the Stars from l'Observeur du design by an independent international jury.

On March 28th, 2008 Planes was awarded a red dot award in the category "product design" by the Design Centre Nordrhein Westfalen, Germany. Just to qualify for this highly coveted international prize, a product must display a combination of design quality, ecological principles, originality and imagination.  With Planes, Haworth convinced the expert jury that all these requirements were met.

Designed in Bad Münder, Germany, near Hannover, by designer Daniel Figueroa, the development of the series was a joint cooperation between the Haworth Design Studios in Germany and the USA.

The Planes furniture series is available in Europe, America and Asia. A timelessly elegant all-room furniture series which can be adapted to any surroundings and all requirements.   As in the old Greek saying „panta rhei"- everything flows, Haworth takes its Great Spaces idea and makes it an integral part of the Planes design.

The new series is suitable for all office environments where people interact, following a building block type of system, where the various elements can be mixed and combined according to any given requirements. Ideal for any working environment where people meet and discuss, whether seminars, meetings, conferences or workshops, Planes was built for it. Not only the visual clarity, but also its geometric adaptability guarantees a high level of flexibility.
