Conference - "Office buildings: get your 'A'"

The "Office buildings: get your ‘A'" conference took place on May 23rd, 2008 in the Marriott Aurora Royal. The conference brought together well-known experts in the sphere of office buildings. They talked about grading standards and evaluated ‘A' class Russian development projects in Moscow. Developers, investors, architects and consultants took part in discussion and analysis. The keynote speaker was Gordon Carey, President of British Council for Offices.

For Haworth it was particularly significant. Our representative, Senior Strategic Consultant Antony Byrne from Ideation Group, gave a presentation: "Defining and developing the Culture of the business is a cornerstone of a successful workplace that contributes to the strategy of the organisation".

Ideation Group is a research project which studies factors influencing performance in the workplace.  It was interesting to get acquainted with research methods in the sphere of ergonomic workspaces and structural consultative support. The presentation illustrated how good communication and successful project management at the research stage could transmit into strategies which are fundamental for forming new ideas in design projection.

Antony Byrne discussed how Ideation could help business leaders to define, shape and support the culture of their workforce through their office layout. Antony demonstrated how this process worked in practice and went on to feed the design process with insight and rich research data aligned to the cultural needs of the teams within the organisation.

The presentation certainly aroused the audience's interest.
