A First - The multifunctional Haworth seating range

Haworth recently added a new multifunctional seating series to their European portfolio. Very, described as a global product, offers a suitable model for all company environments over all continents. The Haworth Design Studio worked with Simon Desanta on this product, continuing Haworth's successful collaboration with the German designer.

Very is specially suited to areas with applications such as conferences, seminars and cafeterias while also adaptable for use as theatre style seating. The new line-up is based on four models and can be combined with all other Haworth programs. "Our goal is to offer discreet products which blend into the architectural environment," says Andrea Demmerling, Product Marketing Manager, Haworth Europe, "with furnishings expressing a universal design that can be integrated into both current as well as new programs."

The new seating offers a wide range of variations which accentuate the chair's versatility. A characteristic design feature with Very is its harmonious contours.  With its net-like, perforated backrest structure, the chair appears less dominating within its environment. As a result of market research, the multifunctional chair is also available in ten different colours which have little in common with the standard office chair: such a Tomato or Canvas. During development, time was spent considering the chair's life cycle and the result is a 98% recyclability.

Very is available from November 2009 onwards as a conference, seminar, visitor and stackable chair.
