Jean-Michel Wilmotte

Jean-Michel Wilmotte was born in 1948 and is a graduate of the École Camondo. He set up his own design office - Governor - in 1975 and enrolled with the Ordre des Architectes in 1993. With a team of ninety people of diverse nationalities, architects dplg, town planners, interior architects and designers, he handles major commissions in France and abroad. The activities of his design office, which originally focused on furniture design and interior architecture, particularly in the fields of museum layout and the contemporary upgrading of old buildings, has spread to architectural design. More recently, an industrial design department was set up. Besides which, in the past few years the office has been developing the concept of 'interior architecture for cities' a new approach to the treatment of urban space which centres on surface coverings, (floors, walls and façades), plantations, lighting, urban furniture and transports.
