Paolo Favaretto

Paolo Favaretto

Paolo Favaretto actively participates in forming Italian design of the present day. As president of the "Associazione per il Disegno Italiano (North-East)", he speaks at congresses and educational events - His passion is the interrelation between art and science, which forms the foundation for successful design.

The utilisation of new technologies is also vital to combine the "useful with the beautiful", the main goal which, according to Favaretto, should always be the creation of a product that improves life. A noble ambition, which Paolo Favaretto expresses in his designs.

He graduated from the Architecture Faculty in Venice in 1973. He initially specialised in industrial design and consulting. He worked for recognized companies across the globe in 1980.

His international fame rests on the new office environments conceived for the Italian ministry in Voltaborozzo. He developed a much-praised tactile museum for the blind and sight impaired in Catania. Design should be perceptible by all. This interest led to his founding of the European Institute for Design and Disability.

His many prizes include the Roscoe Award, USA in 1988, the Compasso d'Oro in 1989 as well as the 1989 Good Design Award in Korea.
