Emmanuel Dietrich

The French designer Emmanuel Dietrich was born in Besaçon, in the east of France, in 1969. As early as 6 years old he was already demonstrating a desire and aptitude for design, working with his hands to create objects out of lime wood.

He graduated from the Ecole Boulle in Paris in 1989 with a diploma in Interior Design, and soon set up his own design business with great aspirations.

His enthusiasm, tempered only by his modesty, has led him through such diverse clients as Facom, Ardi, Hermès, Ligne Roset and Louis Vuitton. His designs range from the "Harnais" watch to the Häagen Dazs spoon.

Within the furniture world, Emmanuel Dietrich has worked with Artelano, Mobilier International, Ligne Roset and of course Haworth.

Dietrich's style of design focuses on nature and the form with a strong emphasis on objects that attrach the touch of a hand. He advocates a deep feeling that the best ideas spring up from diversity and from the tensions between apparently contradictory universes.
