In December 2010, after more than 50 years on the “rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré”, Haworth France has moved on to Boulevard Murat, in the 16th district of Paris. The new building boasts a beautiful Art Deco style, former home to Edgar Brandt, founder of the Brandt Company and architectural steel worker on Parisian landmarks such as the tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Arc de Triomphe (Champs Elysées).
The design of the new 1,350m2 space was conceived by the interior designer Emmanuel Dietrich and the Haworth Design Team. The objective was to emphasize the original architecture of the building as a background to the communication and presentation of Haworth's evolving corporate message and product design qualities.
Thanks to research and workspace knowledge, Haworth is well aware that an organization's performance and the well-being of employees is dependent on the working environment. So workspaces must be created according to the real needs of the users.
In the development of the Paris showroom, Haworth experimented with the creative process which is recommended for customer projects. This guarantees a live showcase for customers and A&D.
The design philosophy allowed creating a workspace that is aligned with the work activities throughout the day and facilitates organisational changes, the layouts encourage each employee to use the various spaces according to the task he has to perform, and permanently makes use of the whole 1,350m2 .
The 4-floor building is divided into specific areas so that the user can immediately identify each space and its function:
- Downstairs: Pause & Play is dedicated to relaxation.
- Ground floor: Know & How is mainly dedicated to the exhibition of standard furniture.
- First floor: Inter & Action is the core of the building, for sales operations and client welcome.
- Second floor: Design & Decision is dedicated to creating and projects.
Occupants benefit from lockers, private cubicles, a cafeteria and a relaxation area including a whole kitchen, television and games...
Haworth partnered with some technological partners in this project and used their expertise for new and innovative developments: Philips (lighting), Ecophon (acoustics), Somfy (light and heat management).
At 101 Boulevard Murat, customers, dealers, partners, architects and designers come to meet and devise solutions to their projects. This is a place of creativity, communication and exchange, where Haworth shows what an Organic Workspace really is.
