Málaga Provincial Council
Client
The Provincial Council in Malaga is a government body dealing with the diverse requirements of a major city and tourist destination. The council has many arms and many departments that need to work in harmony.
Challenge
The new headquarters of Málaga Provincial Council were designed to centralise the services managed by the council. The aim was to remove the problems of coordination between departments and the amount of time wasted for both citizens and municipal authorities in the transfer from area to area. The offices are made up of two linked buildings and surrounded by a perforated aluminium structure. Haworth furnished the space with almost 500 workstations in an installation that aimed to integrate the services and enhance continuity in the workplace.
The team responsible for construction, led by Luís Machuca Santa-Cruz, chose several Haworth ranges, including K22 from the designer Mario Ruiz. The project used K22 workstations and meeting tables as well as more than 1,600 Hugo cupboards. The office chairs were chosen from the System 39 range, and there are 270 System 55 visitor chairs.
Both reception and executive areas were also furnished by Haworth. Reception featured modesty panels in glass and beech tops, while a_con desks, s_con chairs and special Hugo cupboards completed the managerial air of executive spaces including both solo working offices and meeting spaces.
Scope
