Dow Europe GmbH has been an active participant in the European chemical industry since 1952. It has grown from a single sales office in Zurich to a broad network of research laboratories, manufacturing plants, sales offices and support services.
Dow Europe GmbH and its affiliated companies produce a wide range of products, including chemicals, performance products, plastics, hydrocarbons and energy, and consumer specialties which include agricultural products.
Challenge
DOW Europe AG aims to offer its employees the best working environment, where they can feel comfortable and be motivated to reach their peak performance.
With the creation of over 180 jobs in two years, and a newly vacated section of the premises, DOW Chemical needed new workstations for both individuals and groups within an open plan space.
Haworth is DOW’s preferred partner for office space design and furnishing. The chosen products and designs for the renovation of their Swiss space were governed by rules of the global agreement with Haworth
Project Details
The Hexagon workstations, Unico plus cabinets and HC1 drawer units were all finished in pastel grey melamine, for a consistent style. The executive offices used the spider leg Hexagon desks in maple espresso. For the seating solutions, DOW uses black System 55 office and visitor chairs.
The acoustic elements were provided by Renz Solutions GmbH, Haworth’s acoustic partner in Switzerland. These acoustic panels were combined with glass walls between the workstations, maintaining the open and bright atmosphere of the workspace while significantly reducing noise levels.
