Wolfgang C. R. Mezger
Mezger was born in Germany in 1951, although his background is also part Dutch. He studied design at the College of Design in Schwäbisch Gmünd, successfully graduating in 1979 and receiving the 1980 Braun Prize.
As a freelance designer, he worked for a couple of years with Nick Roericht and taught at design colleges in Berlin, London, and Schwäbisch Gmünd between 1981 to 1989.
In 1983 C. R. Mezger opened his own design studio in Eislingen. He now works with a small team for top international companies from the United States and Europe. His designs have made him one of the most sought after office furniture designers. Mezger is considered in the industry as someone who is comfortable with the most far reaching aspects of technology, who places great stock in good quality, and who produces the best results.
His studio can look back at more than 40 international design awards including:

- the Netherlandish Furniture Prize, Amsterdam
- Roscoe Design Award, New York
- Design Center, Stuttgart
Wolfgang C.R. Mezger designed the m_sit lounge chair range for Haworth, which was awarded with the iF product design award 2006.
