Orgatec 2010: Spotlight on Very and System 59 task chairs
Despite the trend towards greater mobility in the office, workers still spend the majority of their working day seated. Haworth’s Very and System 59 seating families take this into account by bringing state-of-the-art technology to the office chair. The result is ergonomic, aesthetic seating solutions for a wide range of applications.
Very: smart, versatile, responsible
The Very task chair, a new addition to the award-winning Very seating range, maintains the family tradition of science-led comfort. Its patented asymmetrical lumbar support and supportive mesh combined with the fully functional 4D armrests offer users an ideal ergonomic solution to enhance their sense of comfort and well-being. Designed by Michael Welsh and Nicolai Czumaj-Bront of the Haworth Design Studio, the Very chair’s most convincing characteristics include its universal appeal, application versatility, responsible sustainability, and the broad scope of aesthetic colours and innovative options.
The chair’s clean geometry and design aesthetics come with unlimited options, including an upholstered seat and back, four mesh colours, black or fog trim and a broad choice of ergonomic features. Moreover, the Very task chair can be supplemented by any other member of the Very family, which includes the Conference, Seminar, Side and Wire Stacking chairs. The overall impact of this smart, versatile and responsible seating range is a consistent, aesthetic appeal throughout the business space.
System 59: the ideal chair for everybody
The idea was both startling and challenging: design the ideal chair for everybody – regardless of shape or size. That was the challenge taken up by Simon Desanta and the Haworth Design Studio. Two alternative solutions to this seemingly impossible task were found in innovative technology from Haworth. The user's body weight is transmitted through the seat surface to the Automatic-Weight-Control mechanism or the Auto-Synchro-Control mechanism. These Haworth technologies were developed to counterbalance the pressure of the backrest and thus support dynamic sitting. This combines with the tried-and-test PAL Back System and AIR·GO·PUR seat to set new standards in ergonomics and comfort. As a result, when users take a seat, they almost forget they are sitting down. The System 59 family covers almost 30 model variations, offering a single solution for all office seating requirements while at the same time demonstrating a commitment to sustainability with up to 95% recyclability.
