Orgatec 2010: Spotlight on T_up desk system
As office technology increasingly frees office workers to be more mobile, the time they spend at a fixed workplace is declining. Office environments need to be adaptable to support different work styles, sustainable to comply with stricter legislation and growing ecological awareness, and cost-efficient as rents rise in most locations. T_up is a comprehensive and cost-effective desking system that provides answers to these differing demands. Its intelligent platform design provides for easy assembly into numerous configurations and its storage options transform a simple desk into an efficient and integrated workspace.
T_up comes with fixed or height-adjustable T or bench legs in one- or two-colour finishes. The storage elements are full-access cabinets, a more useful design than standard pedestal drawers, and are available in different heights and, if required, accent colours. Moreover, Haworth’s Universal Screens fully support all T_up configurations.
Adaptable
The core design with a central beam allows for different leg designs, provides T_up with the ability to scale from a single desk to a bench, and enables meeting tables to be created using the basic desk. A height-adjustment option for the desk legs allows work surfaces to be adjusted to each user. Storage elements can be integrated into the desk with no additional parts or pieces, thus reducing cost.
Integration
In line with Haworth product philosophy, T_up has been designed and engineered to work seamlessly with other Haworth products. Freestanding or integrated T_up storage elements expand the desk into a comprehensive workspace while Haworth’s Universal Screens may also be included in such a workspace to provide privacy. When placed together with other Haworth products an effective and harmonious workspace environment is created.
Sustainable
T_up has been designed to support Haworth’s Design for the Environment principles – as few parts and pieces as possible, modular components and quick assembly. The compact platform design ensures efficient logistics – an important factor in the frequently changing world of business. The materials used in T_up are environmentally sound and easily recyclable.
