Orgatec 2010: Spotlight on Kiron and Epure desk systems

Since change is one of the few constants in today’s office environment, workplaces need to be capable of adapting fast and flexibly to changing needs. Kiron and Epure, two state-of-the-art Haworth desk systems, have been designed as future-proof, constraint-free solutions to meet the complex requirements of office workspaces – now and in the foreseeable future.

Future-proof Kiron

German designer Andreas Struppler’s aim in designing Kiron together with the Haworth Design Studio was to ensure the Kiron desk system had the flexibility to support collaboration and creative cultures – a goal achieved by incorporating Haworth’s in-depth workspace knowledge. Kiron’s simple design adjusts to its user’s needs, being equally capable of creating a single workstation, a team bench or a conference solution, and fits just as easily into tranquil managerial surroundings as it does into busy offices.

The Kiron desk system is made up of a wide variety of table shapes and extensions, frame and tabletop colours, leg styles with manual or motor-driven height adjustment, accessories and personal storage units for different workplaces. New Kiron bench solutions, meetings tables and storage solutions will be on show at Orgatec 2010. Kiron can be easily combined with other Haworth products, e.g. Very seats or System 59 chairs. The use of recycled wood chips for the desks and durable aluminium for the frames is consistent with Haworth’s principle of sustainable design.

Constraint-free Epure

Change is always costly, and can be constraining. The idea behind the Epure range is to enable companies to avoid office furnishing constraints while offering them rich functionality and numerous workspace solutions. Epure enables change to be implemented in an easy, cost-effective and sustainable manner through optimal use of space, ease of installation and reconfiguration, a reduced number of extremely durable components and trouble-free furniture fleet management. Designed by Emmanuel Dietrich, Epure is characterised by a highly adaptable design featuring an Isoplan® structural worktop and tool-less assembly. The innovative construction principle allows Epure to integrate its own supporting structure inside the worktop to provide maximum flexibility and increased legroom under the worktop while maintaining a high degree of sturdiness and rigidity.

The Epure range includes desks with a choice of 60 worktop shapes mounted on fixed, height adjustable or mobile legs, 3rd -level screens for enhanced vertical use of space, and a wide variety of storage units. Epure has been awarded an NF Environment certificate by AFNOR, the official French certification body. This certificate is awarded to products that maintain their performance with a reduced environmental impact over their whole lifecycle.
