Orgatec 2010: Spotlight on Haworth's partners

Alliances for added value: visitors to Haworth’s Orgatec 2010 booth can take a closer look at numerous unique products from three internationally recognised artisan companies with whom Haworth has formed alliances: Gabriel, Kvadrat and XAL.

Gabriel: textile solutions

Established in Denmark back in 1851, Gabriel is one of Europe’s leading suppliers of furniture textiles. Gabriel specialises in the development, manufacturing and marketing of furniture fabrics and related textile products for use in applications where product features, design and logistics have to meet the strictest requirements and where both quality and environmental management need to be documented.

The Haworth furniture on view at Orgatec 2010 features fabric solutions from Gabriel especially seating. Bubbles, a brand-new fabric-solution on view for the first time, is being launched exclusively for Haworth and is also enjoying a world premiere at Orgatec 2010.

Kvadrat: Clouds

Established in Denmark in 1968 and now one of Europe’s leading companies in the field of design textiles, Kvadrat supplies renowned architects, designers and furniture manufacturers all over the world with textiles for use in upholstery and curtains. Kvadrat is always endeavouring to break through the aesthetic, technological and artistic boundaries of textiles, working with a roster of the world’s top designers, architects and artists, including Alfredo Häberli, Peter Saville, Akira Minagawa, Tord Boontje, David Adjaye and Olafur Eliasson.

Self-expression lies at the heart of Clouds, a colourful, organic art sculpture on view at Haworth’s Orgatec booth. The result of a collaboration between Kvadrat and two French designers, Ronan and his brother Erwan Bouroullec, Clouds is an interlocking fabric tile that evolves as elements are added to it, producing a 3D effect that pushes back the boundaries of textile design. Clouds invites everybody to construct their own piece and turn their vision into reality. Haworth products at the booth will also feature Kvadrat fabrics especially the new LTB.

XAL: Lamps

XAL produces luminaires and lighting systems for shops, offices, hotels and living spaces. Around 420 employees work at sixteen sites in seven countries in the development, production and marketing of XAL products. The headquarters of the company is located in Graz, Austria, where XAL was founded in 1989. The most important subsidiaries are now located in Munich, Zurich, London and New York.

XAL aims to develop lighting solutions that are extraordinary in terms of technology and design. To achieve this goal, XAL believes that research and development is just as important as first-class know-how in production and logistics. Numerous XAL lamps are on view at the Haworth Orgatec booth.
